PLACERVILLE, CA (3-16-11) -The office of Handy Racing Promotions has once again been forced to cancel another event at Placerville Speedway. This Saturday night's Civil War Series Opener that was scheduled to take place March 19 is the latest victim of mother nature.

Due to grounds that are already saturated far beyond the point where they would dry before Saturday and additional heavy rains in the forecast later this week, track management has decided to cancel this opening night event for the Civil War Race Series. A make up race for the Civil War opener will now take place on Wednesday, June 8 at Placerville Speedway with the return of "Wild Winged Wednesday."

Following this cancellation, the Civil War Sprint Car Series will now officially open on Saturday, April 9 when the Petaluma Posse vs. the Civil War Sprint Car Warriors at the famed Petaluma Speedway in the North Bay. Placerville Speedway will now open on Saturday, April 2 with the first round of the 2011 Red Hawk Casino Fast and Furious Dirt Track Series.
